My niece is now in high school, where students begin finding their interests and what they want to be in life. She is not pursuing my path. Her interest is actually botany. I'm excited to see what she does in that field. She's a very clever girl so I always knew what ever field she'd choose, she'd do great things. Katelyn (my sister) has also told me that she seems subtly interested in my books and the diversity of species, but told me to not get my hopes up because Violet really loves plants. I'm just happy she seems open-minded and that the education system hasn't successfully brainwashed my niece.
I also want to state that Violet wrote a thesis on Santa Claus being a wizard. I read it. It's so so so good. It almost made me want to go to the North Pole, or Greenland as Violet predicted is his actual base of operation, to investigate. I'm so proud of everything she does right now. I wanted to share it here with anyone who wants to read it but I'm sure she'd kill me if I tried. Now it's Violet telling me I dote on her too much.
