Diary Log #3

These might be getting shorter while I'm on a trip. I have to write the official reports for my books and I can't really sit still when I'm exploring. It's crazy how many new things I find. Some are even by accident, but I believe it's because of my birthday. I was born on September 8th under a full moon, two numbers found to be extremely lucky in wizarding culture which blesses me with innate luck. This guides me a lot in my travels. I know I dismissed "gifts" one is born with, but luck is a natural talent I can't deny, and even so, it's how I use it that counts. So my innate luck is a tool for me. I'm sure it played a hand on me becoming famous (if this hadn't happened I'd probably be assassinated a long time ago). But most importantly, at least for me, it really helps me find the most unique studies. Not all of them, but for example, the kumiho study I did; kumihos are actually lone creatures that never travel in packs. Their "evil" so to speak, (I'm using this term because they use it themselves) is a result from emphasized characteristics that cloud their judgement. They are selfish (among other exaggerated traits) and that natural selfishness is what drives them to usually hunt and live alone. The pack I met, in fact, was no less selfish individually than other kumihos and hated being together-yet they still were! It amazed me, that they were my first experience of a kumiho. I want to go back and investigate why they chose to be a pack. I was too excited at studying a new species I didn't even realize it was abnormal behavior. My expectations must be kept low, however. From my observations I inferred that they were on the verge of disbanding. Then again they somehow feel like they shouldn't have even been grouped together, so I'm in no position to give an expert opinion on the matter.
